Juneteenth Community Celebration
AUDIENCE: All Ages
PROJECT: This project was an idea of Bryan + College Station Library System Children’s Librarian, Jennifer Stadler. Implementation of the program was carried out by Jennifer, myself and Bryan + College Station Library System Carnegie Branch Librarian, Rachael Altman. This all ages Juneteenth 2024 holiday celebration, allowed key members of our community to share not only the historical significance of Juneteenth, but also highlight the unity and cultural fusion our community offers today. Crafts for families were enjoyed during the event, and light snacks were supplied by The Remnant of Nawlins at the end of the event.
